My sessions with you
All my sessions with you will take place in my private practice in North London or over the telephone or through Skype.
My first session with you will be an opportunity for us to discuss your problems, goals and aspirations, thoughts and feelings in a safe and supportive space.
The initial consultation aims at identifying the problem areas and goals for therapy and coaching, including any relevant background information. It is also a time for both of us to discuss how we will be working together and to decide whether this is the best treatment choice or coaching method for you at the moment and if not I will advise you on a more appropriate route to take.
My training as a psychologist allows me the flexibility to draw on a wide range of psychological theories and practice of therapeutic and coaching models. Both my therapeutic and coaching approaches have originated from The Cognitive and Behavioural school of thoughts. These approaches complement one another and my sessions are tailored to each individual needs.
We will agree on a certain number of sessions bearing in mind that most courses of CBT, MBCT and Coaching last from 5 to 15 sessions. Some chronic or life long problems may require longer term treatment.
CBT, MBCT and their derived Coaching approaches are not a magical cure but more like learning a new way of thinking and being that requires practice. This is why the sessions will usually take place on a weekly basis so that you can make plenty of time to practice in between sessions.
Throughout the therapy and/or the Coaching, you will be working towards specific goals and towards becoming your own therapist and/or Coach.
